Elite Dangerous

I'm seriously thinking about picking this up, has anyone been playing it yet?

Of course if I do buy it, I'll probably have to break down and get a X52 pro, I dug out my old Sidewinder Force Feedback2 joystick, but I don't think that'll cut it

im really looking hard at this game.  i have a X55 Rhino in my Amazon wish list just for this game.

gave in, purchased it.

I'll be installing it tonight.

That X55 is calling me, but I'll play with my FF2 for now...

If you use virtualbox, disable your virtual NIC's before installing, otherwise it'll hang.

Dear Lord look at the buttons.........  I'm a little scared of the layout.  X55 is looking more and more like what I need.  How is the Beta so far?

I managed to dock at my first station last night on my first try!

This morning I loaded up some goods, and took off, flew to another system, and tried to dock. For some reason I don't have the request docking option, so I logged off outside the station.

Wonder where my ship goes when I log out in space?
Loving the appearnce and sound so far, and the complexity.

Not sure about the X55, the forums I've been reading about the quality are really putting me off. Maybe I'll try to pick up an x52 or x52 pro from ebay cheap until they work out the kinks on the x55.

I also read a rumor about a themed x55 for SC possibly in the future. Might be cool, but know idea if / when that would come out.

For now, I'll stick with my FF2 a little longer

My brother bough into Elite too, and he ordered the X55 from Amazon, and will have it in hand tomorrow.

I should have feedback later saturday, or sunday.

Hell, I might have to go over to his house to check it out, then I can decide if I need one

thats gay hope they fix that,  it shouldnt be easy to trade and find routes the make max profits that easy. this game is going quickly down the tube

Black, I'm assuming this was an add in for Beta to help give people money to test other ships without the grind to test them out. I'm sure it'll be gone once beta is over.

I also assume they'll mix up the prices of commodites and supply routes so people won't have too much of a head start.

9 gold last night, and 4 this morning.
I think I'm sitting at 70,000 credits at the moment.

I got attacked coming into Freeport this morning, by 3 ships.
I ran for the docking entrance as my shields died. They got me to half hull before I got inside, then I heard explosions and 3 contacts lost   Station got them once they got in the nofire zone trying to get me. About 1200 in repairs, but I was carrying about 25,000 that trip so it was worth it

Joystick should be in tonight, so I'll be setting that up

we're the ships AI or real pilots cause I was attacked relentlessly last night well after i got off Team Speak.  and I don't know where Black is comming from this game is bad ass.  it's also in Beta for goodness sake, things are going to change.

so made a couple of trips out and back picking up cargo containers floating. up to $166K now

Did it all with the joystick, no keyboard needed for anything, really loving it. Need to try combat next to make sure everything is mapped intuitively but so far so good

Has anyone heard of Voice Attack?  thought about getting it to bind keys to your voice instead of being all over the keyboard.  Looks interesting and it's only 8 dollars one time fee.

Voice Attack is awesome.  Not only works in games like Elite Dangerous but can be used to voice activate your med kit or tool kit in Tanks.  you can use it to switch to gold rounds from AP without leaving the WASD on the keyboard.  $8.00 price tag is hard to pass up.  Easy to use even if you're on Team Speak as long as you don't use voice activate on TS.
